Recently Designer Ashfaque Ahmad showcased newly launched evening collection at Delhi Times Fashion Week at the Roseate House, New Delhi. The collection has been designed keeping intact his signature style of rich fabrics and intricate surface ornamentation.
Whether it is a pre-wedding function or a red carpet affair, his take on cocktail gowns in flowing tulle, silk and heavy georgette is unmistakable and is sure to make one feel like the star of the evening. The icing on the cake in his collection is that it is hand-crafted keeping in mind the Indian woman who wants to represent the world and feel up-high in their fashion game.
Also notable was the elaborate embroidery and intricate beading works on the silhouettes that were further enhancing the beauty of the gowns. Innovative and forward-thinking of designer Ashaque Ahmad has let him exhibit impeccable shows in the past too. He has also dressed celebrities like Gauhar Khan, Mugdha Godse, Sana Khan and many more clients across India and the Middle East.
“Vriksh the theatre” brings Thespis 3 – the third season of the National Micro Drama Festival for theatre lovers. It’s a day-long function beginning from its inauguration till prize distribution and conclusion. It’s scheduled to be held on 21st April at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi. It’s going to be the first time in the history of world theatre that forty plays are scheduled on a single day with a maximum duration of ten minutes and awards are offered for 10 categories like Best Production, Script, Direction, Actor, Actress, Technician, etc.
Inaugural drama for this edition would be ” Kanpur- e- Kashmir” directed by Vijay Kapoor, the winner of last year followed by series of drama in different lauguages including English, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Urdu.
This year, Vriksh the theatre’s motto is ‘Art for Humanity’, and it has been decided to be for ‘rehabilitation of flood affected population and uplift of street children’. The festival is organized in the name of Greek artist ‘Thespis’, who is believed to be the person first to appear on stage. This celebration of abundance has bagged Best of India Records for the last two consecutive years. Due to its unique nature, questions related to this festival have found a way into competitive examinations for bank recruitments and Civil Service prelims preliminary.

Funky Boyz are the party tuners! Funky Boyz is a live band based out of the Capital City of India. They are a fusion of dance, funk, bhangra, hip-hop, contemporary, International and Bollywood element. A well-known band with more than a 1000 successful shows and it mainly comprises of four members- Paras Sunda- Emcee, & Vocalist, DJ Wicked, Sandy the percussionist and JSK Dholi. They are the pioneers of modern Punjabi funk music.
Paras Sunda– Started his career as a video jockey for zee networks and further moved on by bagging the contract with the first international radio station world space. There he developed his interest in music. Being desi from the heart he always had a niche for Punjabi music which dragged him to the world famous dhol band Buzz Funk as their official vocalist/co-owner for India.
He later on shot to fame with his song ‘ Nehar Wala Pull’, in which he gave the Lyrics, and then there was no looking back.
DJ Wicked- The backbone of the band and the only ‘ Singing Bling of India, Dj Wicked. In his Case Djing started out of curiosity turned into a hobby and then finally into Passion! Wicked has a keen interest in Punjabi and Bollywood style of music, he even has an album to his kitty “ The Jhoom Hits”…. Wicked can any time pull the crowd to the dance floor to his numbers.
JSK Jindi– Who knew his Passion for Dhol, would lead him to conquer the world, Jaswinder Singh Kooner has huge experience, he was with Daler Mehndi for a long time and has travelled the globe. He has been awarded the title of “ India’s only Heavy Weight Dhol Champion.”
Sandy– Sandeep Kumar Chandel A.K.A Sandy Percussionist, has been awarded the title of “ God On Drums’ in Spain(Madrid).
Parull Mahaajan is an Inspiring Versatile Lady who wears many hats at the same time. A Lawyer, Interior Designer specialising in green and sustainable designs , Advisor Delhi Literature Festival and Bharat Niti and Social Activist working closely with the Government for promoting various causes like Environment Conservation, Swachh Bharat, Women Empowerment, Women Menstrual Hygiene to name a few. She also promotes the Indian weavers and artisans by curating events to promote Khadi, Handloom and Indian Handicrafts. In November 2017 Parull curated the Fair Trade Forum Sustainable Fashion Walk with a participation of about 70 countries in NIFT Delhi and made the Ambassadors and Diplomats walk the ramp wearing Indian Handloom Apparel. She recently did a 3 day event in Varanasi in April 2018 where she curated the fashion show, panel discussions and cultural events to promote Banarasi Fabrics from Local to Global with the Eastern Uttar Pradesh Exporters Association and Ambassadors of 12 countries were a part of the event.
Parull has recently been made the General Secretary of the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation to take forward the Vision 2020 of Dr Kalam.
Parull works with several Embassies in promoting Social Cultural Diplomatic and Economic Relations between India and those countries.
Parull has been honoured with several Awards for Excellence in the field of Eco-friendly and Sustainable Interior Designs as well as her Social Service to the Society by many organisations including the United Nations. Her articles keep featuring in many newspapers and magazines and she features on many television shows. To sum up she is not just a lady but an Institution in herself.
Gaurav Gupta, President, Rajasthan academy hosted 28th Kavyitri Sammelans & 7th edition of Naari Gaurav Samman at Gulmohar Hall, India Habitat Centre. The moderating session was conducted by Ms. Suman Maheshwari in an excellent way. Female members of Rajasthan Academy shown their hidden talents by reciting many poems in the programs. to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the inception of Lodhi Art District, St+Art India has decided to treat us with a beautiful temporary exhibition, that brings together over 19 international artists.
