Kaladharmi on the occasion of their golden jubilee presents a 2-day festival “AAROHI”

Known for curating provoking and ground breaking gharana festivals, Kaladharmi on the occasion of their golden jubilee ceremony is organizing the 2nd edition of “AAROHI” series which celebrates a heritage gharana from 18th to 20th November 2018 at Meghdoot Auditorium & Stein Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Bringing alive versatile and talented artists across the Country, this series aspires to carry forward the legacy of classical music and aims to make a mark in the world of Indian Music. The festival will feature the torch-bearers of various gharanas across the Country in a very special way. The very first day of the festival will start with the seminar of world renowned artist Pandit Pannalal Ghosh of Borishal Ghosh Gharana which will be followed by the flute recital of eminent artist Shri Sudip Chattopadhay.

Narendra Nath Dhar

The 2nd day of the festival will start with the celebration of Borishal Ghosh Gharana with a short film on Pt. Pannalal Ghosh. Shri Ghosh has invented the long flute and propagated ist use for the first time in the Indian subcontinent thus creating a distinctly different flavor of the flute and giving it a status of classical music. The second performance of the day will be a flute recital by Pt. Rupak Kulkarni and the day ends with paying homage to Rampur- Sahaswan Gharana with a vocal recital by Shri Ghulam Niyaz Husssain Khan.

Nayan Ghosh

The final day of the series will start with celebration of Rajshahi- Shahjahanpur Gharana with the presentation of sarod recital by Shri Narendra Nath Dhar  which will be followed by paying homage to Patiala Gharana with a vocal recital by Pt. Shantanu Bhattarcharya.
